Lionel Jadot
100% self-taught, Lionel Jadot defines himself as an interior architect, an artist, a designer, a film-maker and… an adventurer! Not one to shy away from a challenge, he bid for two ambitious tenders in 2002 and won both, without the support of a studio or team. An insatiable jack-of-all trades, Lionel Jadot loves unlikely combinations. Born from a long line of craftsmen who founded a luxury chair company, from the age of six he was already tinkering with the waste materials he found in the family workshop.
This is probably where his passion for upcycling stems from – Lionel Jadot is always applying fresh fervour and enthusiasm to this art of not throwing anything away, of reusing everything, especially in Breakaway, the tapestry that he designed with and for PINTON. It is through his close collaboration with Jacques Bourdeix, the in-house cartoon designer, that the artist could unleash his creativity. Mixing different traditional fibres like wool and unexpected materials like plastic or iron rods, he imagined bright colours and created textures. The resulting piece is in his image: eclectic, joyful and incredibly lively!
