Victor Cadene
Victor Cadene is an artist who practices his art in many different ways. After studying Applied Arts, he quickly became a decorator and scenographer. He designs miniature and decorative scenes where every item is hand drawn before being cut with a scalpel and assembled. In these paper theatres, the diverse influences dear to the artist come through in the profusion of details: the Nabis, Matisse, Paul Poiret or Rococo… His designs include textile pieces, such as a collection of napkins, tablecloths and mural fabric panels imagined for Maison Thévenon and instigated by French Cliché. His work also includes objects like the fans designed for Duvelleroy, or the window displays created for Shang Xia and Hermès or for Diptyque’s Bazar…
Fond of the patina of time, of objects that have a history, Victor Cadène pursues multiple projects with enthusiasm, elegance and the ambition to mix his preferred styles, eras and patterns resulting in a multitude of possibilities.
For his first collaboration with PINTON, Victor Cadene created rugs displaying curves and intertwining lines in warm colours, in keeping with his poetic and bountiful universe.
